These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Diesel looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Coles!
Coles manages to work his way to half guard, despite Diesel's best efforts.
Diesel seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Coles is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Diesel working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
Coles has hold of Diesel's hands but Diesel slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Coles is concentrating on defense, preventing Diesel from advancing position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Diesel thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Coles is looking to regain full guard. He's left an arm up in the air though and Diesel has latched onto it... Big trouble! Diesel pivots for an armbar - it's in tight and it Coles is tapping in no time flat! Great counter grappling there from Diesel!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Vin Diesel!
Vin Diesel really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Sportsmanship Ltd. logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.

Wooten pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Smith back to the cage. Wooten follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
We've been told by Wooten's head coaches at SP ICON sucks donkey dick that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Wooten's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Wooten duly obliges.

Wooten feints and as Smith raises his hands in defense, Wooten changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Smith has his feet on Wooten's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Smith shoots for a double leg takedown but Wooten sprawls well. He's pushed Smith's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Wooten decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Wooten is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Smith has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Wooten is looking to defend but Smith has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Wooten! Smith pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Wooten taps out and this one is all over!

and Carter counters with a nice low kick that buckles Gattis's knee momentarily.
Carter lands with a good body shot.
Gattis tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Carter manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Gattis closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Carter did well to prevent Gattis getting side control.
Carter pushes Gattis off but Gattis dives into side control.
Gattis in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
It looks like Gattis might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Carter lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Gattis circles away quickly and effectively.
Gattis tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Carter was well out of range. Poor timing from Gattis.
No joy there for Carter, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Gattis changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
