The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A slow jab from Joey misses its intended target.
Bastad shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Joey swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Joey tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Bastad was well out of range. Poor timing from Joey.
No luck for Bastad with that takedown attempt.
Joey takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Bastad tries to close the distance and clinch but Joey swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Bastad darts in looking for a takedown but Joey gets double underhooks and turns Bastad into the cage.
