Undercard bout

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jack Hillman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jojo Banzai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Jojo Banzai was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jojo Banzai!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Yves DeLean and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Banzai enables Hillman to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Banzai manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hillman accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Hillman postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Banzai manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

Dead knocks out Simenkov with a massive right hand! The ref tackles Dead before he can follow up with any more strikes and that's it everyone. Dead picks up the big W with a huge KO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:19 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Better Dead!
Better Dead really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Spartan Nutrition 160Q with Proof logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.

Landry takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Landry will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Burgundy throws the left hand but Landry avoids the punch easily.
Landry bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Landry was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.

Burgundy does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Landry tries to close the distance and clinch but Burgundy swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Burgundy will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Landry takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Burgundy lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Landry throws a sloppy head kick and Burgundy moves out of range easily.

Burgundy cracks Landry with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Landry looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Burgundy finish him?
Landry drops his hands momentarily. Burgundy doesn't need a second invitation, landing a shot to the temple. Landry staggers and falls to the mat and the ref dives in to save him from any more punishment. Landry doesn't seem happy with the stoppage but he was done.
