The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Davis ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Petkovic moves away.

Petkovic gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Davis to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Davis seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Petkovic tries to land a sweep but no joy.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Petkovic can do anything to dispel that myth.
The referee asks Davis politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Davis prefers to stall for the moment though.
We've been hearing good reports from Davis's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
