I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!

Tinto changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Hupp looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Tinto throws an elbow but Hupp slips to the side and avoids it well.
Hupp parries the strikes from Tinto easily there. Tinto is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Hupp to escape.
Tinto misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Tinto lands a decent elbow from side control.

Tinto thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Tinto is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Hupp looks calm but he's in trouble here. Tinto gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Hupp is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Tinto lets go of the hold and Hupp can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Sai get stunned by a cross and takes another one on the button. Sai stumbles backwards and tries to bounce back off the cage but Meese runs in and jumps on him with a leaping lead hook that puts him out! Wow, that was highlight reel stuff! Awesome finish!

With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Eye Land!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Santiago Holmes and Dirk Anderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pain cracks Land with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
We've been told by Pain's head coaches at Rabid Dog that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Land misses with a straight left.
Pain swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Land looks to score with a jab to the body but Pain is just out of range.
Pain appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.
A telegraphed right hand from Pain misses the target.
Pain slips a jab from Land.
Land needs to keep his hands up - Pain had a free shot at his head there.
Pain lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Pain throws a low kick but it's checked well by Land.
Land now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Land staying out of range there.
A big left from Pain misses.
Land throws out a counter right but Pain avoids it with no problem.
Pain shoots in for a takedown but Land shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Land swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Land throws a jab but it's blocked by Pain.
Pain fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Land on the side of the head.

Pain shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Pain was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Pain wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Land, who protects the arm well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Land is looking to regain half guard here but Pain keeps moving and retains side control.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Pain looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Land can do anything to dispel that myth.

Pain has an Americana. Land didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Pain is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Pain hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
