Powell connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Lil momentarily.
Lil lands with a cross.
Powell takes one on the button.
Lil ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Powell moves away.
Powell blocks a jab.
Powell tries to counter with a clinch but Lil shakes him off and moves away.
Powell slips a jab and a cross from Lil.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Powell! But no joy.
Powell slaps away a takedown attempt from Lil, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Lil ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Powell looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Lil is fending him off so far but Powell persists. Nope, Lil circles away and we're back to standing.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Khan throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. McElroy was covering up waiting for the punch and Khan finishes the takedown easily into guard.
McElroy pulls Khan in close to prevent any damage.
Khan content to stall in guard here.
McElroy wants to sweep here but Khan controlling him for the moment.

Khan thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
McElroy tries to land a sweep but no joy.
McElroy looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Khan is pushing down on McElroy's leg trying to pass to half guard. McElroy is fighting to maintain full guard but Khan has managed to sneak the leg through.

Still in half guard, Khan seems content to control.
McElroy trying to control from the bottom.
McElroy is looking to escape.
Khan is thwarting McElroy's attempts to control the position.
McElroy is trying is best to control the position here.

Khan looking for a submission but McElroy manages to get full guard, putting an end to that submission attempt.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
McElroy pulls Khan in close to prevent any damage.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Khan drops back looking for a leg! McElroy is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and McElroy manages to kick Khan off! Khan jumps back into McElroy's guard.
Khan wants to pass the guard but McElroy is keeping the position.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

McElroy rushes Khan and presses him up against the cage.

McElroy has hold of one of Khan's legs. Khan is fighting the takedown attempt but McElroy gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

McElroy has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Khan to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! McElroy is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Khan pulls down on the head and he's put McElroy to sleep! This one is all over!
