Undercard bout

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Russ Vanpelten (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chuckie Mac (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vanpelten comes to the cage accompanied by For whom the bell tolls. Chuckie Mac told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mac looks for a takedown but Vanpelten sprawls well.
Vanpelten tries to land a front kick but Mac steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Vanpelten tries to clinch but Mac moves out of range.
Mac closes the distance and clinches up with Vanpelten, looking for a takedown. Mac pushes Vanpelten against the cage but Vanpelten circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Mac is looking to clinch but Vanpelten is avoiding it.
Mac fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Vanpelten manages to avoid it.
Mac moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

Mac feints and as Vanpelten raises his hands in defense, Mac changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mac tries to free his leg and advance position but Vanpelten is retaining full guard.
Mac prevents Vanpelten from getting back to his feet.
Mac stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Vanpelten swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Horrible takedown by Mac or perhaps it was just good defense by Vanpelten which made him look bad.

That was a close round but I would say that Russ Vanpelten will probably get the nod.
