The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kruger looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Tolonen is fending him off so far but Kruger persists. Nope, Tolonen circles away and we're back to standing.
Tolonen throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Kruger.
Tauno Tolonen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Kruger closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Kruger lands in his opponent's guard.

Kruger drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Kruger jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Kruger is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Tolonen looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kruger cracks Tolonen with a solid left hand.

Tolonen regains half guard there - taking advantage of Kruger's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
Tolonen slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Tolonen is working an open guard so Kruger takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Kruger tries to move into range but Tolonen moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

Kruger loses concentration momentarily and Tolonen pounces with a three punch combo! Right, left, right! Kruger crashes face first to the mat, out cold! Tolonen finishes this one with a fantastically precise combo! Great stuff.
