The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Beast uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Weiner.

Weiner stuffs the takedown attempt from Beast. Beast gets slowly back to his feet.
Beast uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Weiner.
Weiner throws a hook but Beast blocks it.
Weiner throws out a loose jab but Beast uses good head movement to avoid it.
Weiner throws a jab when Beast was well out of range.
Weiner lands a nice shot that snaps Beast's head back.
Weiner lands an overhand right.
Weiner fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Beast manages to avoid it.
Weiner throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Beast fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Weiner avoids it really well and circles away.

Weiner thows a body shot but no joy.
Beast stalks Weiner and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Weiner's face. Weiner staggers backwards, shaken.
Weiner fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Beast on the side of the head.
Weiner really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Weiner throws a hook to the side of Beast's head but Beast sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Beast displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Weiner throws out the jab.
Weiner lands with an overhand left.

Beast is rocked!
Beast walks straight into a right hand from Weiner - that's dropped him! Weiner jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Beast from any more punishment! Beast complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.

and Wright counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
A low kick from DeFoe is predictable there
and Wright counters with a good low kick that DeFoe was not able to check.
Wright throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Wright, right into the meat.
DeFoe throws a leg kick that is checked
and Wright counters with a stiff right hand.
Some bone on bone action there as Wright checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
DeFoe gets off balance looking for a body kick
and Wright counters with a stiff right hand.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
DeFoe slips a straight right by Wright.
Wright connects with the punch.
A low kick from DeFoe misses
and Wright counters with a nice uppercut.
DeFoe blocks a head kick by Wright.

Wright connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Willem DeFoe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
DeFoe throws a leg kick that is checked
and Wright counters with a low kick, right behind DeFoe 's knee.
DeFoe looks gassed!
DeFoe misses with a leg kick
and Wright makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
DeFoe takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

DeFoe is rocked!
Wright ducks down into range and throws a picture perfect right hook that connects with DeFoe's jaw. DeFoe's eyes stare off into space as he falls to the mat, out cold! Wright does the decent thing and steps back, rather than landing any shots to his unconscious opponent.
