Spillum moves forwards but Romanow connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Romanow lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

Lars Romanow seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Romanow drops Spillum with a beautiful combination! Spillum stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Romanow is looking for the KO!

Hughes throws a lazy uppercut
and Van counters with a nice kick to the body.
An inside leg kick lands from Van .
Some wild striking there from Hughes.
Van went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Van works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
A looping hook to the body misses from Van . Hughes does a little dance to reset his feet.
Van lands a really nice looking cross but Hughes seems unphased.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Van throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Van shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Hughes eats them both and turns towards Van to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Hughes is working to tighten his grip on Van 's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Van has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Hughes is really squeezing tight and eventually Van passes out! Hughes breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
