The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kaleva throws a right and a left that Miles Iii avoids nicely.

I think Waters might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to THRU - THE DEATH RAY. The crowd seem to be enjoying Ngata's choice of entrance music: Soundcritters - Haka War Chant. Tangaroa Ngata is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ngata cracks Waters with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Waters tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Ngata pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Waters is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

Both fighters are only really looking to counter, so after a good 30 seconds of circling eachother endlessly, the referee has stepped in and told them both to be more aggressive.
Janeiro tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Harding defends well and Janeiro ends up having to push Harding into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Janeiro has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Harding throws the left hand but Janeiro avoids the punch easily.

Janeiro is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Janeiro hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
