The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kong throws the kick towards the body but Powell avoids it.
Kong sets himself, and Powell steps forward looking for the clinch! Kong avoids it this time.
We've been told by Kong's head coaches at 3Band MMA ($500/week) that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Powell stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Kong.
Kong turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Krom Kong seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Powell fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
And Kong counters with a quick kick to the body but Powell blocks it.

I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Johnny Puma was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Jay Kush decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.

Timmermans throws a good cross that connects.
Timmermans fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Spice.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Redding comes into the arena with Alive blaring out of the sound system. Stenger has chosen Hit2face - Ain't it nice to get hit to the face? as his entrance music. On his way into the cage it seems that Joshua Redding has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Joshua Redding seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Redding avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Redding drops down looking for a counter takedown but Stenger sprawls and moves away.
Stenger lands a front kick.
Redding lands a really nice looking cross but Stenger seems unphased.
Stenger connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Redding momentarily.
Stenger works Redding's body with a nice hook.
That kick from Stenger tenderised Redding's leg. Redding is trying to keep his angry face on.
Stenger tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Redding feinted with a counter takedown.
Stenger swings for the body but Redding moves out of range.
Redding drops down looking for a counter takedown but Stenger sprawls and moves away.
Redding definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Stenger loads up on a big right hand but Redding slips the punch.

Stenger ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Redding moves away.
Redding changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Redding avoids the head kick by Stenger.
Stenger throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Stenger tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Redding tries to counter with a takedown but Stenger is quick to defend against it.

Redding with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Stenger to score with a decent uppercut.
Stenger scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Redding doesn't seem bothered though.
Stenger uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Redding.
Stenger steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Redding.
Stenger tests Redding's chin there with a solid looking shot.

Stenger connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Stenger lands a body shot.

Stenger throws a jab but it's blocked by Redding.
Redding drops down looking for a counter takedown but Stenger sprawls and moves away.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Stenger. Redding shrugs it off though.
Stenger has worked on his takedown defense in the runup to this fight and it is paying off so far.

Stenger moves into the clinch.
Stenger lands a good knee to the midsection. Redding won't want to take too many of those.
A body shot lands from Stenger.
Stenger landing knees to the body.
Redding is breathing heavily.

Stenger escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Redding takes a body punch but keeps moving.

Stenger lands a big head kick that sends Redding tumbling to the mat! Stenger takes a step backwards and waves Redding back to his feet - he wants the finish!

It looks like Joshua Redding has been cut.
Stenger misses with a series of wild punches.
Oh Redding is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Stenger lets loose with a powerful body kick. Redding will feel that in the morning.
