Schmo is trying to ground and pound but Hackett uses the momentary lack of control by Schmo to regain half guard.

Schmo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hackett swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Schmo must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Schmo throws an elbow that misses. Hackett uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Schmo's guard. Nice move by Hackett!

Schmo manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Hackett manages to get himself to full guard.


The fighters are working up against the cage. Hackett manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

Hackett keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Schmo's efforts to push away.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Hackett here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
Schmo tries to work over Hackett's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Schmo escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Hackett throws a sloppy head kick and Schmo moves out of range easily.
And Schmo tries to counter it with a takedown but Hackett pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Hackett comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Schmo might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Schmo has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Hackett.

Schmo sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

Hackett is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Schmo can do to turn this around?

Hackett connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Schmo momentarily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Schmo has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from Hackett.
Hackett lands a brutal head kick. Schmo looks out on his feet and Hackett throws more strikes until the ref is forced to stop the fight!
