Powers shoots in looking for a takedown. Tanabe tries to sprawl out of it but Powers keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Tanabe manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Tanabe lands a left and a right that send Powers crashing to the mat, dazed. Tanabe thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Tanabe scoring well with a low kick there.
Tanabe rushes Powers with punches - Powers moves straight backwards instead of circling and gets clipped by the second strike... and the third... and the fourth! Oh, Powers goes down! Tanabe follows up with more strikes and the ref steps in to end the bout!
