The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Diaz shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Minakov as he avoids it easily.

That was a close round but I would say that Jimmy Diaz will probably get the nod.

Diaz changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Minakov tries to avoid it but Diaz manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Minakov to the ground. Minakov escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Cote tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Ahsan Hamed seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sloppy strikes from Hamed. Those never looked like landing.
Cote avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Cote wants to counter the offense by Hamed and move into the clinch position.
Good leg kick by Hamed there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Hamed has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Hamed is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Cote has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Hamed is looking to defend but Cote has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Hamed! Cote pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Hamed taps out and this one is all over!
