And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Julio Rivera!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Roger Salmon and Ryoma Takatsuka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wooten jabs Rivera to the body, keeping him at a distance.

Rivera shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Wooten manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

Wooten manages to break the clinch.
Rivera takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

It looks like Julio Rivera has been cut.
Rivera wants to clinch but Wooten slips to the side
and Wooten makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Wooten avoids the head kick by Rivera.
It looked like Wooten was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Rivera.

Wooten cracks Rivera with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Rivera looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Wooten finish him?

and Wooten counters with a left to the body.
Rivera is still on wobbly legs! Can Wooten finish him?
OH! Rivera has been rocked by a huge right hand and is in deep trouble! Wooten smells blood and charges in for the finish! Wooten unloads a vicious overhand right and connects to the jaw of Rivera sending him face first to the canvas! Unbelievable!

These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Drako Bravo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gil Jacobson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bravo comes to the cage accompanied by Jiu Jitsu by Eddie Bravo. Jacobson is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Over, Under, Sideways, Down. The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bravo looks to throw the jab but Jacobson is out of range.

It looks like Drako Bravo has been cut.

Bravo uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Jacobson.
No luck for Bravo with that takedown attempt.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The fighters circle momentarily. Jacobson darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Drako Bravo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
