Pimp tries to bum rush Render with a series of wild strikes but Render uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Render keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Pimp moves out of range of the body kick from Render.
Render darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Render closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Pimp takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Render misses with a wild combination.
Render slips a jab and a cross from Pimp.

Pimp closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Pimp lands in his opponent's guard.
Render keeping moving, preventing Pimp from controlling successfully.

Pimp postures up in Render's guard and throws a big left but Render blocks it.
Render really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Pimp. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Pimp drops back looking for a leg! Render is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Render manages to kick Pimp off! Pimp jumps back into Render's guard.
Render keeping moving, preventing Pimp from controlling successfully.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Pimp stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Render swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Pimp stands and throws Render's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Pimp wants to lay and pray for a moment but Render keeps working.
Pimp cracks Render with a big right hand but Render just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Pimp tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Pimp has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Pimp is trying to get an arm triangle but Render is defending well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Georges St Pimp will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Render throws a series of strikes that have Pimp backpedaling.

Render listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Render misses with a jab, cross combination.

Pimp moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Pimp with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Render to score with a decent uppercut.
Render lands a jab to the nose.
Georges St Pimp is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Pimp has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
