The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fitch misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Vasiliev shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Fitch but Fitch pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Fitch moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

It looks like Oleg Vasiliev has been cut.
Fitch fails in his attempt to clinch.

Fitch closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Fitch is looking for a kimura but Vasiliev is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Fitch to get the leverage.

fedor throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
fedor uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Ares.
