The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith looks to land a right hand but Mann moved out of range.
Smith throws the left hand but Mann avoids the punch easily.
Sloppy strikes from Mann. Those never looked like landing.
Smith takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Mann swings widly with a right hand
and Smith counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Smith has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Mann throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Smith.

Smith throws a hook to the side of Mann's head but Mann sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Carter Mann seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

We've been hearing reports that Mann has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
