The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Halifax dives in and grabs Vlavo's left leg, looking for a takedown. Vlavo pushes down on Halifax's head and hops out.
Vlavo takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Vlavo lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Vlavo scores with a nice head shot.
Vlavo uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Halifax.
Halifax takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

Halifax looks to score with a jab to the body but Vlavo is just out of range.
Vlavo feints a jab promting Halifax to slip. Vlavo then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Halifax slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Vlavo misses with a wild combination.
The crowd cheers as Vlavo lands an impressive looking overhand right. Halifax doesn't seem phased though.
Vlavo stuffs the takedown.
Halifax drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Halifax takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Vlavo feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Halifax sprawling to the canvas! Halifax rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Vlavo finish him?!

Halifax is rocked!

It looks like Joe Halifax has been cut.

Vlavo drops a shoulder and throws an uppercut that cracks Halifax right on the button. Halifax goes down! Vlavo follows him to the mat and finishes the job with more strikes! Vlavo gets the win via TKO!

We've been told by Uberveem's head coaches at Kangaroo's MMA that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

and Uberveem counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Joe will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Samoa Joe was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
Alistaar Uberveem was interviewed post fight and said 'he took this one fair and square, we are now even at 1 a piece...Uberveem x Joe III needs to happen, and i promise it will end like the first fight did. i was simply off my game tonight.'.
