The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson checks the leg kick.
Johnson lands a leg kick that knocks Rob off balance momentarily.
Rob misses with a hook. Johnson ducked under it nicely.
Rob throws a hook but Johnson avoids it easily.
Johnson shapes to counter with a head kick.

and Rob counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rob cracks Johnson with a solid left hand.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rob throws a big right hand that misses.
Rob is pushing down on Johnson's leg trying to pass to half guard. Johnson is fighting to maintain full guard but Rob has managed to sneak the leg through.

Johnson is defending against the submission attempts here by Rob.

Rob is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

We've been hearing reports that Chatillon has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Chatillon swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.

Supuaga takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Supuaga lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Chatillon backs up against the cage.
Chatillon shoots in for a double leg but Supuaga sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Supuaga creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Chatillon with a big uppercut! Chatillon tries to clinch up but Supuaga pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Chatillon to the mat! Chatillon covers up and Supuaga unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!

Smoke finds Zappa's off switch, with a big overhand right that connects perfectly to the side of the head! Zappa flops back against the cage, eyes gazing into the distance. Smoke lands an unnecessary shot before the referee has time to step in and end the fight. Brutal stuff but I'm sure Zappa will be OK.

Ramadan fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Shelton looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

It looks like Marc Shelton has been cut.
Ramadan looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Shelton doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Ramadan lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Shelton has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Shelton and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Shelton has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Ramadan is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Ramadan has instead reached around Shelton's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Ramadan arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Sonny Landreth had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 156.7lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?
