Nine drives through with a takedown into Jurgs's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Nine stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jurgs swivels though and keeps the full guard.

My spies in Cozad MMA New York inform me that Nine has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Jurgs's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Look low, kick high! Andrews uses the oldest trick in the book to send Jitsu tumbling to the canvas, in a truly brutal knockout! Andrews is absolutely delighted - when Jitsu wakes up, I doubt he'll be quite so happy!

Farmery tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Hood defends well and Farmery ends up having to push Hood into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Hood works the jab nicely.

Farmery looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

letting Hood counter with a right hand.

Farmery bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Farmery.

Hood throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Farmery dives in and grabs Hood's left leg, looking for a takedown. Hood pushes down on Farmery's head and hops out.

Farmery bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Hood bucks up and tries to throw Farmery off but instead Farmery has got his back!

Farmery has got one arm under Hood's chin. This could be trouble... Hood trying to control the other hand but Farmery gets it free and sqeezes tight - just a matter of time now! Yep, Hood has tapped out! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Philip Farmery!
A very excited looking Philip Farmery rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
