The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rykov looks to score with a jab to the body but Gail is just out of range.
Gail is looking to clinch but Rykov is avoiding it.
Rykov throws an overhand right that lands on Gail's shoulder, as Gail tries to avoid the shot.
Gail drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

Rykov gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Gail to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Gail looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Rykov holds on and takes a little breather.
Gail is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

No joy there for Rykov, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Rykov misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Gail.
Gail closes this distance looking for a takedown but Rykov circles away.
Gail fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Rykov avoids it really well and circles away.
Alexey Rykov has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gynther Gail.

Rykov drops Gail with a beautiful combination! Gail stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Rykov is looking for the KO!

It looks like Gynther Gail has been cut.
Gail loses concentration momentarily and Rykov pounces with a three punch combo! Right, left, right! Gail crashes face first to the mat, out cold! Rykov finishes this one with a fantastically precise combo! Great stuff.
