Leif paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

Salo tries to counter with a clinch but Leif shakes him off and moves away.

Leif throws a leg kick that misses.
Salo drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Leif defends it well.
Leif fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Salo.
Salo misses with a series of wild punches.

Leif lands a left and a right that send Salo crashing to the mat, dazed. Leif thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

It looks like Aki Salo has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Leif lands a jab and follows it up with a massive straight that knocks Salo out cold! Salo is crumpled in the corner, his head only propped up by the cage! That's one for the organiziational promos right there! Wow, what a finish!

Monroe regains half guard there - taking advantage of Curtain's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Curtain is trying to work for a kimura but Monroe is defending well.

Curtain drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Monroe dives on top into guard.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Monroe is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Hardcastle tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Soares throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Hardcastle counters with a shoot takedown. Soares fights it but they end up in guard.

Hardcastle avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Soares manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Hardcastle manages to get himself to full guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
