Undercard bout

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Trey Lawson (ranked 4028 p4p, 494 weight class) and Liber Alderich (ranked 2402 p4p, 343 weight class). Alderich has chosen Remember the name as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Alderich has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Lawson has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Alderich has his foot on Lawson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Lawson works his way back into a safe position though.

Alderich has instead reached around Lawson's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Alderich arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Revazov bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Revazov has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Napleton is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Revazov yanks on the arm and Napleton is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Revazov.

I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Stevie Franchise was going to win. Let's see if he was right.
