The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Green feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

No luck for Gooch with that takedown attempt.
Gooch shoots in but Smith avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Smith is looking to score with low kicks.
Gooch closes the distance and clinches up with Smith, looking for a takedown. Gooch pushes Smith against the cage but Smith circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jon Gooch. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Smith lands a left and a right that send Gooch crashing to the mat, dazed. Smith thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Smith lands an uppercut, right on the button! Gooch tumbles backwards into the cage, staring vacantly into space! He's got no idea where he is, who he is or what day it is... Poor guy.

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Aamakualenalena Robinson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Manny Donkers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Robinson comes to the cage accompanied by The Verve- Bittersweet Symphony. Donkers has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Robinson closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Robinson is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Donkers is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Donkers wings away with a couple of strikes but they don't land.
Robinson postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Robinson tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Robinson has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Donkers is not content to let Robinson control the position.
Donkers is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Donkers is refusing to be controlled, as Robinson sits in half guard.

Robinson maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Donkers could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Robinson has cracked it and Donkers is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Robinson!

Donalds takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Mack Donalds seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gordon ducks under a wild hook from Donalds.
Donalds scores with a three punch combo!
Gordon throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Donalds.
Nice cross by Gordon.
Donalds moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.

Donalds fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Donalds throws a jab but it's blocked by Gordon.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Donalds throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Gordon stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Gordon lands with a nice combination. Donalds backs away looking to recover.
Gordon connects with a good right hand that stumbles Donalds. Donalds circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Gordon's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Gordon duly obliges.

Donalds is rocked!
Gordon lands with a big right hook that stumbles Donalds - he's out on his feet here! Gordon follows up with another monster hook that separates Donalds from consciousness! Donalds falls, almost in slow motion to the canvas! Gordon stands and admires his work as the crowd go wild.
