The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Poller misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Chen looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Chen goes for a double leg but Poller avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Poller continues to drive forward.
Poller changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Chen tries to avoid it but Poller manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Chen to the ground. Chen escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Chen connects with an inside leg kick.

Poller closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Poller is trying to control the action in half guard but Chen is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Chen wants to control but Poller is keeping busy.

Poller looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Hitta tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Swayne defends well and Hitta ends up having to push Swayne into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

This entire fight has taken place on the feet so far and you wonder whether Verheij might be better served trying to take this one to the ground because he's losing the standup battle so far.
Abdallah thuds his right hand into Verheij's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Abdallah lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Verheij has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
