The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Monson changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. McDonald looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
McDonald is trying to control Monson's posture but Monson avoids it.
McDonald takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
McDonald tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Monson wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
