Well Petrov has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chris Davis!
The judges for this bout are Ben Hemmingworth, Chris Dean and Ben Watson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Williams throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Davis's waist but Davis gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Williams off to one side.
Williams sets himself, and Davis steps forward looking for the clinch! Williams avoids it this time.

Davis lands an elbow just above Williams 's eye.
Davis pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.

Williams jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Davis walks away with a smile on his face. Williams gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Pat Williams. That's going to take a lot out of him.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Davis is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Davis wants to get up but he can't break Williams's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Williams working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Davis doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Williams is tightening it up a little... Davis has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Davis reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Davis taps out! Nice BJJ there by Williams!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Pat Williams!
Pat Williams was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
