The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Beaudry moves away from the strike by Keates.
Connah Keates seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Keates ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Beaudry moves away.
Some wild striking there from Keates.
And Beaudry tries to counter it with a takedown but Keates pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Keates swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Beaudry counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Beaudry tries to free his leg and advance position but Keates is retaining full guard.
Beaudry sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Keates's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Beaudry passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Keates!

Keates is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Beaudry locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Keates is forced to tap!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Patrice Beaudry!
In defeat, Connah Keates stepped up to the mic, saying 'great fight to the victor i just didnt come prepared today .. ill be back ... would like to tahnk the boyz at beach also for the oppertunity'.

Polo scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Oreiro doesn't seem bothered though.
Polo swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Oreiro dives in and grabs Polo's left leg, looking for a takedown. Polo pushes down on Oreiro's head and hops out.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Polo has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Oreiro off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Oreiro is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Polo is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Polo is not content to let Oreiro control the position.

That was a close round but I would say that Felipe Oreiro will probably get the nod.

Polo tries to close the distance and clinch up but Oreiro swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Polo throws a series of strikes that have Oreiro backpedaling.
Polo slaps away a takedown attempt from Oreiro, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Polo misses with the combination.
No joy there for Polo, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Polo gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Oreiro to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Oreiro is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Polo has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Oreiro has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Polo taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Oreiro doesn't care though - he's delighted!
