Jones slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Hightower closes the distance and clinches up with Jones, looking for a takedown. Hightower pushes Jones against the cage but Jones circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
A combination from Jones does no damage.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hightower darts in looking for a takedown but Jones gets double underhooks and turns Hightower into the cage.

Harris has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Bates shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Harris as he jumps to the side.
Bates slips a jab and a cross from Harris.
Bates takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

and Harris scores with a counter punch that sends Bates to the canvas! Harris smells blood - he's punishing Bates with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Bates has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!

Still in half guard, Battle seems content to control.

Battle is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so James is just riding it out for now. Battle eventually gives up the hold.

Battle is sneakily working for an arm triangle but James sees it coming and defends easily.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Battle stands and steps away. James gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

James closes the distance and clinches.
James tries to pull guard but Battle forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Battle throws a punch but it's blocked by James.

James manages to break the clinch.

Chris Battle overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
James wants to control his opponent's hands but Battle gets his hands free.
Battle is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.
You can see the frustration on James's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Coors circles away from the clinch attempt.
Coors just misses with a punch to the body.
Sixpack fails with an attempt to clinch.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Sixpack.
Coors throws a looping overhand right but Sixpack ducks down to avoid it.
Left hook, right uppercut from Coors.
Coors misses with a straight left.
Sixpack keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Coors.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sixpack throws a front kick aimed at Coors's knee but Coors avoids it well.
Coors scores with a hook to the body. Sixpack takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Coors swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Coors circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Sixpack to the canvas! Sixpack doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Coors keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Milo Coors!
Milo Coors decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
