The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A left lands for Jerry.

Well Jerry has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mishima Valhalla!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Valhalla is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Bollinger.

Bollinger clinches up with Valhalla and pushes him back against the cage.

Bollinger has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Valhalla is trying to keep an underhook but Bollinger manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Valhalla has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Bollinger is working away from the top position though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Valhalla is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Bollinger shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Valhalla's guard.

Valhalla has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Bollinger off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Bollinger fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Valhalla to the ground. Bollinger is now in Valhalla's guard.

Valhalla manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Bollinger has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Valhalla clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Valhalla is trying to get back to his feet. He's worked up on to his knees and now he's on his feet with his head on the canvas, trying to shake Bollinger off. It looks like it's working - Bollinger slides off, much to his dismay, and we're back to standing! Valhalla displaying calm under pressure there.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Valhalla scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Bollinger wants to improve his position but Valhalla is controlling well.
Valhalla slips a nice elbow through Bollinger's hands, connecting with Bollinger's forehead.

Valhalla working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Valhalla is nestled in close to Bollinger, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Valhalla looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Bollinger with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Mishima Valhalla dominated that round.

Bollinger knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Valhalla on the ground.
