Bronsten swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Bronsten shoots in and gets a takedown into Asadi's guard.

Bronsten is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Asadi is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Asadi flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Bronsten anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Asadi and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Bronsten slips an arm under Asadi chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Bronsten has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Bronsten is squeezing on Asadi like an anaconda would it's prey. Asadi fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!

Housey looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Kirby with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Housey seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Kirby does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Housey lands a nice short elbow.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jeff Spicoli!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Sandra Marshall and Michael Johnstone.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Turturro tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Spicoli swivels and escapes.
Tuccio Turturro seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Spicoli moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Turturro changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Spicoli tries to avoid it but Turturro manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Spicoli to the ground. Spicoli escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Spicoli has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
A big right from Spicoli misses.

Turturro shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Spicoli napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Turturro is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Spicoli is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Turturro looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Turturro tries for a kimura but Spicoli is defending well.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Turturro has hold of Spicoli's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Spicoli tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Turturro cranks the arm and Spicoli screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Spicoli, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Tuccio Turturro!
A less than humble Tuccio Turturro misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.

Alequin looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Turbano is defending well. Alequin quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Turbano has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Alequin celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
