The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Slobodyanyuk tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Martinez manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Martinez tries to counter with a takedown but Slobodyanyuk is quick to defend against it.
Martinez throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Slobodyanyuk's waist but Slobodyanyuk gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Martinez off to one side.
Martinez is trying hard to land a takedown here. Slobodyanyuk sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Slobodyanyuk decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
