Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Andreas Shepherd (ranked 25248 p4p, 0 weight class) and George Andst (ranked 5951 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that George Andst was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Andreas Shepherd!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, George Andst!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Tarja Halkonen and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shepherd darts in looking for a takedown but Andst gets double underhooks and turns Shepherd into the cage.
Andst should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Andst misses with an uppercut. Shepherd saw that one coming.
Good leg kick by Andst there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Andst escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Andst tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Shepherd was well out of range. Poor timing from Andst.
Shepherd tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Andst manages to circle out of the way.

George Andst seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Andst throws a head kick but Shepherd moves out of range.

Andst instigates a clinch.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Shepherd manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Shepherd keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Andst's efforts to push away.
Andst wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Shepherd has him pressed against the cage.
Andst stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.

That was a close round but I would say that Andreas Shepherd will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Andst moves into the clinch.
Andst is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Shepherd is defending well for now.
Shepherd keeps control of Andst as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Shepherd has Andst pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Andst manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Andst wants to break the clinch but can't.

Shepherd throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Andst blocks it with crossed arms.

Andst breaks from the clinch.

Andst clinches up with Shepherd and pushes him back against the cage.

Shepherd jumps guard and drags Andst to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Andst really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Shepherd. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Andst postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Andst seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Andst throws a strike but Shepherd rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Andst holds on and takes a little breather.
Shepherd will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Andst has his feet on Shepherd's thighs here. He's pushed Shepherd off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Shepherd screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
