The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Houdoe shoots for a double leg takedown but Richards sprawls well. He's pushed Houdoe's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Richards darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Houdoe is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Richards pulls his head out easily.

Richards is looking for a kimura but Houdoe is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Richards to get the leverage.

Richards really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Houdoe. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Richards is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Richards is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Houdoe couldn't care less - he's delighted!
