Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ricky Pierre!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mari Ore!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Steve Erwin and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pierre avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Pierre moves into range and clinches up with Ore.
Ore has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Pierre is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Pierre decides to pull guard.
Ore gets to his feet - Pierre follows without any prompting.
Pierre fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Ore scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Ore cracks Pierre with an open hand slap.
Pierre takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Pierre loses concentration momentarily and Ore pounces with a three punch combo! Right, left, right! Pierre crashes face first to the mat, out cold! Ore finishes this one with a fantastically precise combo! Great stuff.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Mari Ore!

Hardy comes into the arena with Run This Town blaring out of the sound system. Jack OConnor told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

OConnor keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Hardy goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
OConnor connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Nice shot by Hardy.
Hardy misses with a series of wild punches.
Hardy moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
OConnor looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
A head kick misses from OConnor.
Hardy scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Hardy throws a combination but it was largely blocked by OConnor.
Hardy misses with a series of wild punches.
OConnor slips a jab and a cross from Hardy.
Hardy throws a series of strikes that have OConnor backpedaling.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hardy misses with a low kick.
Hardy throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
OConnor is rocked!
Hardy circles away from the clinch attempt.
OConnor is still on wobbly legs! Can Hardy finish him?
Hardy cracks OConnor with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends OConnor tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Hardy pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! OConnor is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Michael Hardy!
