The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Vidal.
Valdez lands the left hand.

Vidal takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Vidal looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Valdez fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Vidal changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Valdez tries to avoid it but Vidal manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Valdez to the ground. Valdez escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Barbosa lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Kovarov circles away quickly and effectively.

Barbosa lands a jab-cross combination.

It looks like Leo Kovarov has been cut.
Kovarov rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Barbosa moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Barbosa throws a counter high kick but Kovarov was just alert enough to avoid it.
Kovarov is looking to clinch but Barbosa is avoiding it.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Kovarov has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

You can see the frustration on Barbosa's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Barbosa is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Kovarov gets his way!

That was a close round but I would say that Marcelo Barbosa will probably get the nod.

Kovarov has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Barbosa to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Kovarov is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Barbosa pulls down on the head and he's put Kovarov to sleep! This one is all over!

Arlovski seems to be squinting his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. Cyborg shows no mercy and swarms him with a barage of strikes! Arlovski is backing up but Cyborg catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Arlovski covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! Cyborg Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Christian Cyborg!
A very excited looking Christian Cyborg rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.

Greene tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Flower is able to avoid easily.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Flower lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Greene has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Greene and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Galactor Gigantus spoke after the fight, saying 'Anderson you rat bastard I'll be back I came in hung over I was only at 80% no excuses though I'll show you when I'm back knocking you unconscious.'.
