The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Powers has a takedown stuffed.
We've been told by Powers's head coaches at Holding Cell that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
A head kick misses from sideU.
sideU throws a body punch but Powers moves out of range.

Powers closes the distance and clinches.

sideU wants the takedown. Powers is fighting it off but sideU persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Powers's guard against the cage.
Powers preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
sideU is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Powers throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
sideU postures up in Powers's guard and throws a big left but Powers blocks it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

sideU postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
sideU works over Powers with some ground and pound from guard.
sideU throws an elbow that misses. Powers uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in sideU's guard. Nice move by Powers!

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as sideU holds on and takes a little breather.

sideU is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

sideU has his foot on Powers's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Powers works his way back into a safe position though.
sideU is trying to control the position from the bottom.

sideU looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
sideU has control of Powers's left arm, preventing Powers from doing any damage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Powers thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

sideU throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

sideU working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Powers doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but sideU is tightening it up a little... Powers has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Powers reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Powers taps out! Nice BJJ there by sideU!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Strap defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Williams.
Williams on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Williams takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Williams misses with a left hand
and Strap counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Strap moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Danga de danga de dang - Williams scores with a four punch combination!
Some wild striking there from Williams.
Strap swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Williams misses with a takedown

and Strap counters with a nice right hand that sends Williams toppling to the canvas! Williams scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Strap finish him?!

Williams is rocked!

It looks like Clarence Williams has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Strap is throwing a storm of strikes! Right hook, left hook and follows it up with a spinning back fist! Williams hits the canvas like a rag doll! And just like that, this one is over!
