Vamachara moves out of range of the body kick from Fernandes.
Vamachara could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Vamachara shoots in looking for a takedown but Fernandes manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Vamachara's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Fernandes looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Vamachara is fending him off so far but Fernandes persists. Nope, Vamachara circles away and we're back to standing.
Vamachara shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Fernandes sprawls well. Fernandes wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Vamachara gets slowly back to his feet.
Vamachara shoots in but Fernandes avoids the takedown attempt easily.
A nice side step and Fernandes releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lassiter lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Tanagul at a distance.
Tanagul scores with a crisp jab that stopped Lassiter in his tracks.
Lassiter thuds his right hand into Tanagul's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Tanagul.
Despite the aggression on Lassiter 's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

Lassiter closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Tanagul quickly recovers to half guard.

Lassiter is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Tanagul is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Tanagul parries the strikes from Lassiter easily there. Lassiter is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Tanagul to escape.

Lassiter tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Lassiter has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Tanagul jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit.

Lassiter closes the distance and clinches up with Tanagul, looking for a takedown. Lassiter pushes Tanagul against the cage but Tanagul circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Joe Tanagul has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Avion Lassiter .

A momentary lapse in concentration from Tanagul enables Lassiter to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Tanagul manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Tanagul wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Lassiter manages to pass to side control.

Alcala is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Waddell gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Alcala gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Waddell is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!

MacConnelly lands with a kick to the temple. Hernandez shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
MacConnelly throws a powerful right kick. Hernandez tried to block low but the kick was high! Hernandez was taken right off of his feet! MacConnelly jumps in to finish the job and the ref tackles him! The fight is over!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Santos throws a left and a right that both miss
and Nakamoto counters with a three punch combo that has Santos backing up. Santos nods at Nakamoto to acknowledge the strikes.
Santos throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Santos fakes the leg kick and cracks Nakamoto in the body.
Santos walks into a jab.
Santos fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Santos throws a right and a left that both miss.
Nakamoto takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Santos tries a head kick but it misses.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Santos takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

Santos is rocked!
Nakamoto closes the distance and lands a crisp combination that knocks Santos out cold! Santos corner are devastated, head in hands behind our commentary position. Poor guys.
