The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Laraque throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

and Skitto counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Laraque thinking.

Skitto moves in looking to clinch but Laraque pushes him off.

Oooooh!!! Skitto has knocked Laraque down with a huge combo! Skitto steps away and waves a wobbly Laraque back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Skitto could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Skitto throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Skitto connects with a jab, followed by a picture perfect straight right that sends Laraque to the canvas, out cold! What a finish by Skitto!

Wong circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Ryokale to the canvas! Ryokale doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Wong keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:17 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). King Wong!
After winning the bout, King Wong thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.

Sim pushing out the jab but it's not landing.

Benson tries to keep at a distance but Sim has taken the fight into the clinch.

Benson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Benson moves out of range of the strikes.

Benson rushes Sim and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Benson jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Sim walks away with a smile on his face. Benson gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Benson wants to clinch

and Sim counters with a crisp one two that drops Benson! Sim thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Benson to his feet! Benson is in big trouble!
Sim tests Benson's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Benson throws a series of punches but Sim avoids them all with ease.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Sim works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Benson is breathing heavily.
Sim gets underhooks to prevent Benson's takedown attempt.
Benson takes a shot to the head.
Sim is pushing Benson up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

The crowd are getting on Sim's back here. They're not happy about his lack of aggression in the clinch.

and Sim counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Sim wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Benson manages to pass to side control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Benson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Benson is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Sim defends it well.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Benson wants to pass the guard but Sim is defending well.
Well, if Benson is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

and Henderson counters with a two punch combo.

Henderson wants to pass the guard but Smith is keeping the position.

Henderson must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Smith has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Henderson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Henderson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Smith. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Smith looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Henderson is defending well. Smith quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Henderson has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Smith celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
