Quirez changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Small looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Test throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. James was covering up waiting for the punch and Test finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Test is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

My spies in Temp Spar Gym inform me that Test has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
James will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Test postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! James is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Test, into his guard.

James has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
