The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fakiiri lands with a nice combination. Potter backs away looking to recover.

It looks like Jack Potter has been cut.
Potter lands with a shot to the body.
Nakki Fakiiri seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fakiiri turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Potter misses with a body shot.
Potter has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Potter.
Potter lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.

Fakiiri lands a nice shot that snaps Potter's head back.

Potter throws a shot from downtown. Fakiiri moves away and avoids it.
Fakiiri stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Potter.
Fakiiri tried to score with a low kick but Potter checks it.
Potter swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.

Fakiiri looks to land a combination. Potter sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

and Potter counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Fakiiri drops his hands momentarily and Potter takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
The fight stays on the outside here - Fakiiri looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Fakiiri swings wildly with an uppercut but Potter uses good head movement to avoid it.

Fakiiri's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Potter lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Fakiiri pushes Potter back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Fakiiri.
Potter scores with a hook to the body.
Fakiiri blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Fakiiri swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Fakiiri prevents a body shot from Potter.

Potter manages to break the clinch.
Potter bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Potter checks a leg kick.
Potter scores with a shot to the body.
Fakiiri is breathing heavily.
Potter tries a low kick but Fakiiri avoids it.
Potter throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Potter with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

Potter sends Fakiiri crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Potter is motioning to the referee to let Fakiiri up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

Fakiiri is rocked!
Potter is stalking Fakiiri. Fakiiri circles to his left. Keeps circling left. Bam! Straight right from Potter, and it's lights out! Fakiiri really payed the price for that rookie mistake.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Jack Potter!
In his post fight interview, Jack Potter started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
Nakki Fakiiri spoke after the fight, saying 'My hats off to my opponent, he's a great fight great skill and tonight he was the better man. I'll be back knocking on the door of title fight.'.
