Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Deontay Wilder !
The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Michael Johnstone and Bart Greer.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wilder moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
A looping hook to the body misses from Wilder . Beach Boy does a little dance to reset his feet.
Wilder takes a swing at Beach Boy's ribcage but misses.

Beach Boy darts in and clinches Wilder up against the cage.
Beach Boy stalling in the clinch.
Beach Boy using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Wilder has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Wilder is trying to break the clinch but Beach Boy has him pressed against the cage.

Beach Boy has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Wilder regains guard immediately.
Beach Boy is pushing down on Wilder 's leg trying to pass to half guard. Wilder is fighting to maintain full guard but Beach Boy has managed to sneak the leg through.

Wilder tries to roll over but Beach Boy keeps him under control.

Wilder is staying active underneath Beach Boy, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Wilder pushes Beach Boy off looking to stand but Beach Boy dives back in and keeps control.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Beach Boy knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Wilder on the ground.
Wilder wants to control but Beach Boy is keeping busy.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Wilder looks to throw the jab but Beach Boy is out of range.

Beach Boy fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Wilder to the ground. Beach Boy is now in Wilder 's guard.
Beach Boy won't allow Wilder to sweep him here.
Beach Boy has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Wilder has his foot on Beach Boy's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Beach Boy works his way back into a safe position though.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Wilder cracks Beach Boy with a right hand to the side of the head.
Wilder throws a combination that misses
and Beach Boy counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Beach Boy has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Deontay Wilder is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Beach Boy tries to score a power double leg takedown but Wilder sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Beach Boy somewhat.
Wilder misses with the combination.
Wilder uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Beach Boy has time to react.

Wilder looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Beach Boy clinches with his opponent.
Wilder wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Beach Boy has him pressed against the cage.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Wilder is trying to break free.
Beach Boy tries for a takedown but Wilder manages to get underhooks.
Wilder prevents a takedown attempt there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Deontay Wilder will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

It looks like Mitch Beach Boy has been cut.
Beach Boy drops his hands momentarily and Wilder takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Deontay Wilder seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Wilder will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Beach Boy lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.

Wilder lands a left and a right that send Beach Boy crashing to the mat, dazed. Wilder thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Beach Boy is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Wilder throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Beach Boy.
Wilder throws a shot from downtown. Beach Boy moves away and avoids it.
Beach Boy is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Wilder .

Beach Boy pushes Wilder up against the cage in a clinch.

Beach Boy breaks from the clinch.
Beach Boy walks straight into a right hand from Wilder - that's dropped him! Wilder jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Beach Boy from any more punishment! Beach Boy complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
