The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pavlov slips a jab and a cross from Firenzi.
Firenzi throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Pavlov.

Pavlov shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Pavlov was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Pavlov has control of Firenzi's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Firenzi regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Pavlov has hold of Firenzi's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Firenzi manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Pavlov is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Firenzi is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Firenzi flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Pavlov anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Firenzi and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Pavlov slips an arm under Firenzi chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Pavlov has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Pavlov is squeezing on Firenzi like an anaconda would it's prey. Firenzi fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
