The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yoshi tries to clinch but Day moves away
enabling Day to counter with a crisp jab.
Day definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Yoshi with a poor takedown
and Day counters with a straight right hand.
Day with a jab.
Day scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Day works the jab nicely.
Yoshi shoots in but Day avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Day keeps the fight on the outside.
Yoshi on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Yoshi drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Day lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Yoshi shoots in for a takedown but Day shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Fri Day has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Leonardo Yoshi.

Yoshi drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Day is looking to stand back up but Yoshi counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Day.
Day might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Day is looking to control Yoshi's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Day avoid being mounted?
Day slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Day working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Yoshi doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Yoshi manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Day has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Yoshi can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Day is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Yoshi frees his head nicely. Oh but Day has switched to an armbar! Yoshi is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!

Mattison throws a series of punches but Orsic moves out of range.
Orsic shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Orsic swings for the body but Mattison moves out of range.
Orsic jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Mattison throws a big counter combination but Orsic scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Braiden Mattison seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Orsic scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Mattison cracks a nice hook into Orsic's ribs.
Orsic throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Orsic uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Mattison.
Mattison misses with an uppercut. Orsic saw that one coming.
Orsic with the counter takedown but Mattison avoids it easily.
Mattison misses with a jab, cross combination.

Orsic closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Mattison is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Orsic asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Orsic thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Mattison tries to escape back to his feet but Orsic has kept hold of him... Oh, now he's got Mattison's back and is looking for the choke... Is it? Is it sunk in? YES! Mattison is tapping! Orsic saw the opportunity and took it - ruthless!

Covert lands a slapping body shot.
Tonu has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Covert stalks Tonu and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Tonu's face. Tonu staggers backwards, shaken.
Tonu moves to clinch but Covert breaks away
and Covert counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Tonu tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Covert manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

and Covert counters with a nice uppercut.

Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Tonu takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

We've been informed that McConnell has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
McConnell misses with a hook. Boxaaja ducked under it nicely.
Boxaaja connects with a body shot that sends McConnell's belly button to the back.
McConnell just misses with a punch to the body.
Boxaaja fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and McConnell has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Dalton McConnell is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
McConnell scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Boxaaja doesn't seem bothered though.

This has been an exciting period of action!
McConnell throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Boxaaja sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Boxaaja feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Boxaaja's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? McConnell is holding on here and Boxaaja must be using up a lot of energy. McConnell has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Boxaaja gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
