And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Winner throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
A punch lands to the side of Winner 's head but he takes it in his stride.
A looping hook to the body misses from Winner. Hughes does a little dance to reset his feet.

Hughes scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Winner tries to buck Hughes off but Hughes is having none of it.
Winner is trying to escape the position but Hughes is controlling the position.
Winner is looking to regain half guard here but Hughes keeps moving and retains side control.

Hughes decides to take the fight back to the feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hughes changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Winner looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hughes wants to control for a moment but Winner uses the opportunity to move back to half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Winner is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Hughes's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Hughes's back!
Winner biding his time, looking for the opening.
Hughes really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Winner is working for the choke. It looks like he might have got it... has he...? Yes! Hughes is tapping out! This one is all over!

Magnarson tries to move into range but Buzz moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Tyson Buzz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Magnarson shoots in for a double leg but Buzz sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Buzz lands with a straight right. Magnarson didn't see that one coming.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Magnarson shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Buzz is trying to get back to full guard.
Magnarson looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Magnarson is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Magnarson slips a nice elbow through Buzz's hands, connecting with Buzz's forehead.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Magnarson is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Buzz is just riding it out for now. Magnarson eventually gives up the hold.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Magnarson stalling.
Magnarson winds up and cracks Buzz with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Buzz is looking to improve his position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Magnarson takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Magnarson has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Buzz defend it? Magnarson steps over the head and cranks it - Buzz is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Magnarson!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:13 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Oleg Magnarson!
A very excited looking Oleg Magnarson rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
