Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Rhys Crowder!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Broseph Stalin!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Colin Fray and Chris Saunders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Crowder fails to land with a series of punches.
Stalin misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Crowder wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Stalin's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Crowder connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Stalin scrambles back to his feet.
Crowder tries to bum rush Stalin with a series of wild strikes but Stalin uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Stalin tries to counter by closing the distance.

Crowder has taken the fight to the clinch.
Stalin stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.

Stalin breaks from the clinch.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Crowder misses the body punch

and Stalin counters with a takedown into side control.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Stalin tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Stalin has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Crowder is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Stalin has just dragged him back down to the mat.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Stalin misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
An elbow from Stalin crashes against the mat.
Crowder pushes Stalin away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Stalin gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Stalin working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
Crowder prevents Stalin from moving into mount.

Stalin is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Crowder looks calm but he's in trouble here. Stalin gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Crowder is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Stalin lets go of the hold and Crowder can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Broseph Stalin!
