The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nunez will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Trezeguet misses with a double jab
and Nunez counters with a three punch combo that has Trezeguet backing up. Trezeguet nods at Nunez to acknowledge the strikes.
Trezeguet bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Trezeguet is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Nunez's shoulder. That is not cool.
Trezeguet sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Nunez is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Nunez can't do much from the bottom here.
Trezeguet working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Trezeguet fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Nunez looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Trezeguet closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Nunez tries to kick Trezeguet off in order to stand up. Trezeguet Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Trezeguet has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Trezeguet thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
Trezeguet sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Trezeguet takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

David Trezeguet showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Nunez enables Trezeguet to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Nunez manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Nunez wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Trezeguet manages to pass to side control.

Well Trezeguet has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
