The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Crowley takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Bonin thumps Crowley with a low kick.
Bonin throws a sloppy head kick

so Crowley counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Bonin working for a triangle but Crowley defends it easily.
Bonin not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Crowley is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Bonin wants to control the position but Crowley says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.

Let's hope that Crowley has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Crowley is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Bonin lands a nice hook to Crowley's body. Crowley takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Bonin is looking to wear down Crowley with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Bonin darts in and out, connecting with a jab.

Crowley walks right into a perfectly timed right hook and goes down hard! He's out cold! The ref cradles Crowley limp body while Bonin jumps on to the cage and waves to the roaring crowd. Wow that was just a brutal knockout!

Knox leaves Souza with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Knox doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.

Athos Knox seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Sloppy strikes from Knox. Those never looked like landing.

Souza shoots in for a takedown but Knox shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Knox has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Souza is landing a low percentage of strikes.

Knox drops Souza with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Souza looks back up at him and smiles so Knox waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Souza is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Knox lands hard precision jab right on the jaw that stiffens Souza up and sends him tumbling to the mat! The ref grabs Knox from behind before he can pounce. Some folks in the crowd didn't like that stoppage, but I saw Souza's eyes roll way back in his head, he was done.

Westcutt escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Alcantara gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Alcantara wants to control from the top but Westcutt keeps moving.

Westcutt isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Alcantara stacks Westcutt on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Alcantara!
Alcantara really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Westcutt. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
